Longer than an aircraft carrier, weighing 307,000 gross tons, and extending 100 feet below the surface, Maersk Peregrino is a monster tanker and an ideal ship for oil production at sea.
Years of planning, $1.5 billion in spending, and 16 million man-hours of labor have come down to this moment. Super tanker Maersk Peregrino is being converted into one of the largest, floating oil production facilities in the world. Stationed off the coast of Brazil, she'll pump, store and off-load billions of dollars worth of crude oil. But first, the crew must complete the makeover. Follow the crew as they attempt to finish an operation fraught with challenges, including strong currents, heavy winds, and even government bureaucracy.
