In 1983, a downed passenger jet escalates tensions between two superpowers, the US and the USSR, to an all-time high. The plane in question: Korean Airlines Flight 007, en route from New York to Seoul. After being shot down by a Soviet fighter jet, an anxious investigation ensues, one mired in secrecy and deception.
