On October 14th, 1918, Private Adolf Hitler suffers a poison gas attack in the trenches of the Western Front. Blinded, he is taken to a psychiatric military hospital, where he makes a fateful decision: to go into politics. Scholars and military psychologists now believe that this, and all of Hitler's future decisions, were colored by the traumatic experience.
